What Economic Downturn?

We've made a bunch of purchases the last few weeks. Here are the big ones in order from cheapest to most expensive (ranging in price from $15 to $1800):

1. Bedside table. Ikea.
2. Barstools - Thank you Ikea.
3. A dresser for Ada. Once again an Ikea special.
4. Bookshelves/cubbyholes for the computer. Ikea.
5. Changing table for Kate. Ikea.
6. Dyson vacuum from Woot! (we already really, really like this vacuum). It's light enough that Alison can even vacuum as she recovers. Good thing too. 'Cause I'm always busy blogging.
7. Big girl bed for Ada. How could we live without Ikea? Now onto the big-ticket items.
8. New dining room table. This was delivered by RC Willey's just this morning.
9. 4 recliner sectional. RC Willey. Now we just need a big flat panel TV.
10. New Bosch high-efficiency washer and dryer. RC Willey. That reminds me, I need to send in my Rocky Mountain Power and Questar rebates...
11. The next two pictures are of our new bedroom set. RC Willey.

12. While this picture shows our bed, it should be a picture of the mattress and box springs. I never imagined that we would be sucked into paying almost $2000 for a mattress. But, Alison and I both love our new bed and have been sleeping great. So good that we don't even hear Kate crying.

Definitely need the TV. That is a must. Love all the IKEA stuff. What a great store. It's so nice they finally decided to get one here in Utah. Good thing you got a nice job to pay for all that stuff. Щас русский можешь изучать - я точно не покажу своей жене то что ты писал так как она тоже все и захочет...Нам надо что-то сделать когда-то. Я знаю что ты очень занят щас и наверно не очень много спишь но все равно..

I love Ikea! Your furniture looks great. I am a bit jealous of your red walled kitchen though.

So you have a new baby and you blog about...furniture??? Sounds like you're in need of an economic downturn.

That's a lot of stuff all at one time- which makes me glad because this week has also been a week that I've dibbed "better than Christmas" due to our house selling last week and us getting some extra cash in our hands. I originally thought it might be too braggy to show anything, but now I'm gonna take pictures and post away!

As you can tell, I've got no problem bragging... That's what this blog is all about!

Holy Smokes! Our little house is looking pretty shabby in comparison.

I'm hoping Ben will read this and decide to follow your example and support the economy! I have a list of wants (I call them "needs") almost as long as your list of purchases. Unfortunately, we just started our 5-year vow of poverty rather than starting our first big money-making job! Someday we'll be there . . . Hopefully I can still talk him into at least half of the purchases :) I'm excited for you guys and love all the new stuff. I'm definitely coveting that dining table!

Tyler there is no shame in shopping your socks off, and I enjoy your no holds bar honesty. Hilarious. I haven't looked at this blog in a while, cute baby.
