Glacier/Banff - Day 6

Day 6 - Invermere, BC to Canmore, AB - July 25, 2018

Today we crossed the continental divide from the area near the headwaters of the Columbia River across the Rocky Mountains to the east on the TransCanada Highway.

Started with some charging in Golden, British Columbia.  This charging location was fantastic, with horseshoes and a playground.

Our first stop was at the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Center.

We met their wolves and a tour guide told us about the conservation work they do.

Mandatory souvenirs. Stuffed animals that will sit in a corner of the kids rooms forever more.

We stopped for a picnic lunch of chips and popcorn along the side of the river.

I pretty much destroyed everybody in the skipping stones competition.

Next stop was a 5km hike to Wapta Falls in Yoho National Park.

It was lovely.

Also in Yoho National Park was our first of the turquoise lakes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Emerald Lake.  A name well suited to the beautiful water.

Tomorrow, we start exploring Banff!
