Redwoods - Day 2

Day 2 - Humboldt Redwoods State Park - August 3, 2017

It's about a 5 hour drive from Oakland to Eureka where we were staying. We stopped at the Humboldt Redwoods State Park on our way to Eureka.

We stopped by the visitor's center on the Avenue of the Giants. All 6 kids, 3 girls from us & 3 boys from the McIntyres.

There will be lots of foliage photos. No explanation needed.

We went on a small loop hike to the Founder's Tree.

Alison and Rachel.

The whole fam.

Lyla splitting logs.

This tree is only 75' shorter than the tallest building in Utah.

Ring around the big tree.

Kate & Grayson.

Lyla walking all contemplative.

Alison and Rachel admiring the big trees.

We stayed at the fanciest hotel in town (maybe not totally true...), which happened to be the Best Western. It had a great pool and activity area that the kids made sure we took advantage of.

Tomorrow we drive to Redwoods National Park.
