Redwoods - Day 3

Day 3 - Redwoods National Park - August 4, 2017

There are 46 photos in this post, about half of them are simply photos of the beautiful forest.  This is such an incredible place.

We went on a couple of short hikes and walks in the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and the Redwoods National Park.

I don't know where Rachel is taking Kate.

Lyla & Grayson.

A cool twisted tree.

Banana slugs.  I wonder how they taste...

Lunch was spent on the side of the road, sitting on the hood.

Lunch date.

We're being overrun by slugs.

Yep. Ada licked one. But, she made a cool $5.

We headed north on Highway 101. Jackson swapped places with Lyla and joined us in our car.

We stopped at Crescent Beach to dip our feet in the Pacific.

We went to the Stout Grove in the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.  This place was a highlight.

The trail took us down to the Smith River, which was a perfect spot to skip rocks.

Cute little bridge, but it would be tough to sail under.

Ada found a little frog.

These are some stout trees.

One more fun perk at our hotel was free limo rides out to restaurants in Eureka.  We took them up on a ride to the Lost Coast Brewery.

Tomorrow we stretch our legs on a long hike.
