I've visited 9 of the world's countries which is only 4% of the total. The good news is that I've been to countries that comprise 26.6% of the world's landmass.
That 26% of the world is a somewhat arbitrary number. If you had visited Russia before the breakup of the USSR, would you have visited more of the world? If you count by continent rather than country, you've probably visited 40% of the world. But if you counted by states/provinces . . .
If I hadn't of visited Russia, I would not have mentioned the 26.6% of the world's landmass. Because it is an arbitrary measurement, it just makes it that much sweeter...
