Utah just beat New Mexico in the late night game at the Mountain West Conference Tournament. What I love about college basketball is that almost* every team has a chance to win out and take the title. Granted, the odds are slim (next to impossible?) for crummy teams like the Utes, but it gives players and fans something to dream about. 8 more wins to the championship!
* The Ivy League Conference doesn't hold a conference tournament, therefore, the only teams entering next season with a win streak are the National Champion and a few teams from the Ivy Leagues...

You never know what sort of magic can happen when you're almost done for. I mean, think about it. What if in football, there was only a couple of seconds left in the game and you're down by 4. You're on the opponents 7 yard line. The quarterback scrambles for what seems like an eternity and then throws clear across the field to a wide open tide end for the game winning touchdown. Or maybe, if you're at the end of the game, and you're on your own 12 yard line and it's 4th and 18...
Anyway, I do love that everyone has a shot. It really does keep it exciting. GO COUGS!
Leave to TDS fans to bring up something that has nothing to do with what you are blogging about.
Anyway, since I am in North Carolina now and do not have the "pleasure" to have the Mountain, what do you think about the future of the Utes? Does this team look like they are going to turn it around after they get ride of all the Giac crap?
I love how the WCC will have 3 teams in the tourney this year thanks to USD's upset.
