Amsterdam - Day 9

 Day 9 - Amsterdam Day 3 - April 6, 2018

With kids you can only plan on visiting so many museums one after another.  So today we visited the zoo.

First breakfast in the underground.

Pelicans.

Lions.

Eagles.

Peacock.

Checking out her wingspan.

Giraffes.

Froggy on the loose.

Kate with a butterfly.

Warthogs.

Leopard.

Camels.

After the zoo we visited the Amsterdam City Museum.

Trying on some fancy armor with a collar.

There were areas of the museum where the kids could climb through cupboards and secret passageways to visit other areas.  They loved it.

Next stop was another museum (Of course!).  This time we had a reservation for the amazing Van Gogh Museum.  This is a bucket-list destination for any fan of Van Gogh.

Visiting the Iamsterdam sign.  This sign was removed a year after we visited.  Amsterdam felt like they were getting more tourists than they could handle.  A similar issue with the Utah's Mighty 5 campaign.  I'm not sure the answer to over-tourism, because I'm contributing to the problem. The big question we have been considering is how we can reduce our own impact when we travel.

So many bikes. The Dutch are amazing.

Tomorrow we ride bikes, visit the Anne Frank House and go on a Canal Cruise.
