Peru - Day 10

Day 10 - Puerto Maldonado to Lima to SLC - June 11, 2018

Here we are, ready to start the long journey home.

Breakfast was some legitimate tamales, wrapped in banana leaves.  They were really good.

Lots of chickens in the yard.

Here is one of the rooms.  The bathroom is behind that curtain.  Not much privacy for the toilet or shower...

Also, lots and lots of tiny chicken lice. Everywhere.  Kate saw them all over her bed as she was climbing into bed last night and freaked out a bit, but somehow we made it through the night.

We left all of our luggage in the garage for a week when we got home. Clothes went straight from the luggage into the washer.

Saying goodbye to the local panther pack.

First was a flight back to Lima.

We had to do it.  We found a restaurant in Lima that had kui (guinea pig).  It was alright.

Ice cream one last time.

Checking in for our flight home. Another fantastic trip in the books, and our first visit to South America.

Next up, Santa Fe!
